It has been almost a year since the Staff at DiLiGO’s bloodcurdling encounter with “Black Tooth”, the creepy Black Toothed Pirate and his buccaneers.
Luckily for the staff, the dedicated DiLiGO spinners have been working their fingers to the bone to get back all the points stolen by Black Tooth and his crew. They did this by spinning on Buccaneers Bounty, day after day. Layla Starr was overheard whispering to Blade Rider last week that “she is so thankful to all the spinners for getting all their treasured points from the Pirates and always knew they had her back.”
After a much needed team effort of outsmarting the ol’ Buccaneers, Guillermo, the head of the DiLiGO Programming Team, was reported to have received a rather sheepish “parrots tail between his legs” apology call from Black Tooth asking if he could make it up to his “ buckos”. Guillermo, very understandingly accepted his apology and furthermore suggested they come teach the staff at DiLiGO the in’s and out’s of how to “speak like a pirate” in preparation for “Speak like a Pirate” day on September the 19th, explained Louisa.
Louisa Lee and Missy Brown were initially concerned about this so called “lesson” and Louisa went as far as to say “one encounter with Pirates is one too many”. However with some reassurance from Alain Adams and Brian Blake, Missy and Louisa agreed.
Upon arrival, Black tooth’s side kick Cap’n Bully Hayes apparently kicked down the door and grabbed poor Missy by the arm and proceeded to grunt with a sideways grin “Aarrgghh, I’ve Sailed the seven seas and you’re the Sleekest Schooner I’ve ever sighted”. In the spirit of all the excitement happening around him, Alain shouted “Ahoy!”, and grabbed Missy to safety, “enough with yer Bilge, ye pox-faced Kraken.”
With that the room went silent, Black Tooth blushed at Alains knowledge on what his lesson was all about and quickly said “Is my Laptop connected to the projector yet? Let’s get this lesson on the go.”
Lessons on how to speak like a Pirate as told by a Pirate himself:
- Growl and Scowl as often as your sentence allows. We pirates are not elegant creatures; we mutter and growl great deals. Aaaarrrr!
- Make gestures with your hands. Our communication is mostly done on the deck of a ship with howling winds and crashing waves. Gesture’s help Pirates with clear messages.
- Slur your words together.” Yer grog is yer bucko.” With all the rum on board it’s difficult to separate words, so practice your mush-mouthed sentences and you will sound like a true Buccaneer.
- Be as loud as pirately possible. Pirates are not shy - stand tall, me hearties, and be heard!
- Refer to yourself as "me" at all times. It is not piratically correct to say, "I have a headache." It is far better to utter, "Got me a case o'th'aches, 'ass rye!"
Play Buccaneers Bounty and test your true pirate abilities to get treasures. Win yer Doubloons with the treaaye chests and compasses. AAAARRRRRR!
